Jacob's first haircut

He did really well for his first time. I thought he'd throw a fit. Bless her heart, but the girl cutting his hair was helping to calm him down and the first thing she did was hand him her comb. I was hoping that this comb was brand new, never used because of course the first thing he'd do is shove it in his mouth. I was trying my hardest to not think about this comb previously used by all these dirty little hands and heads and... ugh, no more, you get the idea. It did shut him up so I just kept my mouth shut about it, grossed out the whole time he sat playing with it in his mouth. I guess I could have taken it from him but I have this thing about making people feel bad when they are trying to help so I go along with it, anyone like that? Granted, if it puts my son in danger, I will do whatever I need to. So far, nothing's happened so I think we are safe. I feel the same way about playing with the toys in the doctor's offices. You just never know if it's the sick or well children playing with the toys. I bet those are the germiest toys you'll find, and at a doctor's office no less!
Anyway, Jake did great and now he has a little man's haircut which cost more than a cut for a toddler should but I can't cut hair, so I might be stuck paying 15-20 dollars for a trim.. yuck! BUt he got to sit in a cute yellow car

Adorable. Will saw this picture and thought it was Logan. I think it's the face and the ears.

I love his hair cut!!! Our Jacob also sat in a chair like that for his first hair cut. I totally know what you mean about the comb and the toys. And shutting up while someone does something that you don't agree with is fine but it really eats you up, right? I go through that almost everyday... different situations but same idea. Well, next time you come back to CA, don't forget to squeeze an hour or two for a playdate with us. It's been so long =)

That picture is adorable! I decidedly firmly that I was going to get this whole haircutting thing down, especially with another boy coming--and I did improve with each cut. However, they were all pretty bad haircuts, and I didn't realize just how bad until my sis in-law (Cydni) moved back into town and did a proper job...I threw my desire to master that skill out the window for now! (And always come armed with a sucker!)

Britton was scared to death of getting his hair cut until he was 3 years old. Each time we went to get it cut both Adam and I had to completely restrain him while they tried to cut his hair as fast as they could. It was pure trama for all of us and then he finally discovered that it wasn't so bad after all. I must admit that when my girls were born I actually thought to myself, "Thank goodness we don't have to worry about haircuts!" I'm glad Jake is having an easier time of it!
